WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

We’re looking for a proactive and skilled engineer with a solid foundation in engineering and hands-on electrical expertise. You’ll thrive in a safety-critical environment, confidently tackling maintenance, diagnostics, and repair tasks to keep operations running smoothly and safely.

The ideal candidate will combine technical know-how with practical experience, and a strong commitment to operational excellence. We’re particularly interested in individuals who can demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and experience:

  • Practical electrical expertise, with the ability to safely perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs
  • Experience working with heat-generating equipment in large industrial settings with continuous heat demand
  • Hands-on experience with biomass boilers, including routine operation, preventative maintenance, and performance monitoring
  • Solid understanding of LTHW, MTHW, and HTHW steam systems and associated equipment such as pumps, valves, and controls
  • Competence using DCS, BMS, and CMMS systems for plant operation and maintenance planning
  • Ideally holds a BOAS Steam Operator qualification (or willingness to work towards it)
  • Experience in biomass fuel handling, including delivery, fuel testing, storage, and feeding systems (e.g. walking floors)
  • Strong awareness of HSEQ standards, supported by operator-level training (e.g. Safety Passport/CSCS) and the ability to produce risk assessments and method statements
  • A methodical approach to documentation, with the ability to produce clear and accurate records and reports
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal teams, contractors, and clients
  • A practical problem-solver, with the ability to troubleshoot efficiently and work safely under pressure
  • A flexible and responsive attitude, willing to adapt to shifting priorities, provide on-call support, and ensure continuity of service
  • A strong commitment to high standards of operational performance, safety, and environmental compliance across a 24/7 biomass energy site.
