You’ll own site setup, planning and quality control, helping us deliver complex civil projects safely, on spec, and on time – and build infrastructure our communities can rely on. Mō te tūranga | About the role As a Site Engineer, you’ll be right at the coalface – supporting the Department Manager and senior engineers to plan, set up and run our civil construction projects. This is a hands-on, site-based role where you’ll spend most of your time out on the job, working shoulder-to-shoulder with our crews and subcontractors. You’ll help turn drawings and specs into well-built, compliant, profitable projects that our people and clients are proud of. Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities Lead and support site setup, planning, resourcing and quality control to get projects out of the ground efficiently. Carry out site investigations and field testing to understand infrastructure condition and failures. Interpret contract docs, building codes, regulations and standards into clear work instructions for crews. Monitor quality, safety and environmental performance, ensuring works are delivered to spec, in full, on time, every time. Provide technical, hands-on support to senior civil engineers across construction, management and design tasks. Identify and report project risks and opportunities, helping to drive commercial and productivity outcomes. Kei te kimi mātou i tētahi e whai ana i ēnei pūkenga | We’re looking for someone with Bachelor or Diploma in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) from a recognised tertiary institution. Experience in civil contracting, coordinating with engineers, architects, contractors and other construction professionals. Solid understanding of NZ building codes, regulations and industry standards for infrastructure works. Sound grasp of civil engineering principles and good practice within the New Zealand construction environment. A practical understanding of project management principles – planning, sequencing, and delivering work to programme. Full Class 1 driver licence A positive attitude, strong work ethic and the desire to develop your career on major infrastructure projects.
