SITE ENGINEER - SIZEWELL C - SUFFOLK

Are you an experienced Site Engineer looking for a new challenge? Do you want to be part of a critical infrastructure project that will shape the UK’s energy future? We’re looking for a skilled engineer to join our team on the Sizewell C project as part of the Civil Works Alliance (CWA).
As a Site Engineer. This is your opportunity to contribute to the development of one of the UK’s most ambitious projects: a 3.2-gigawatt nuclear power station that will power 6 million homes for decades.
What’s the role? As Site Engineer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of the works. You’ll manage day-to-day site activities, lead the team in setting out, and ensure quality, safety, and environmental standards are met. You will also coach and mentor junior engineers while maintaining commercial awareness and controlling project costs.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

  • A HNC/HND/Degree in an electrical or engineering discipline (or equivalent site experience)
  • CSCS card, SSSTS or SMSTS qualification
  • Extensive experience in the construction industry, particularly in earthworks, drainage, pavement, or structures
  • Strong leadership skills and a solution-oriented approach to problem-solving
  • A full understanding of safe systems of work and experience in coaching teams to meet technical requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities
  • Reviewing method statements, risk assessments, and safety documentation to ensure safe working practices
  • Producing task briefing sheets and implementing permits to work, including Confined Space Permits and Hot Works Permits
  • Managing site activities, producing as-built drawings, and completing quality check sheets
  • Supporting the development of short-term programmes and monitoring KPI compliance
  • Managing subcontractors, monitoring costs, and ensuring budget control
  • Coaching and mentoring junior engineers and liaising with designers to resolve technical issues
