This role sits within their building and steel structures division, supporting projects ranging from large commercial developments to complex infrastructure builds.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience as a Site Engineer with a main contractor or steel specialist
  • Strong background in steel frame construction, structural packages, and setting out
  • Proficient with total stations, GPS, and AutoCAD
  • HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • Solid understanding of CDM and site safety standards
  • Able to read and interpret technical drawings confidently
  • Excellent coordination and communication skills
  • CSCS (Engineering or Professional) – Required
  • SMSTS or SSSTS – Preferred
Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As a Site Engineer, you will be a key technical lead on site — setting out, ensuring dimensional accuracy, interpreting drawings, and coordinating closely with subcontractors and site management. A strong understanding of structural steel and steel-frame erection is essential.
You’ll play a crucial role in the successful delivery of high-value projects, ensuring quality and compliance at every stage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accurate setting out and dimensional control on structural steel packages
  • Interpret technical drawings and coordinate with design & engineering teams
  • Supervise subcontractors and ensure technical compliance on site
  • Carry out QA checks, records, and progress reporting
  • Assist with method statements, risk assessments, and site safety plans
  • Liaise with the Site Manager and Project Engineer to resolve technical issues
  • Monitor steelwork tolerances and alignment checks
  • Input into project planning and sequencing
