Site Engineer - Civil Infrastructure | Blue Mountains | ASAP Start

Our client, a well-established civil infrastructure contractor, is seeking an experienced Site Engineer for an immediate start on a project based in the Blue Mountains. This is a temp/contract role initially for 6 months+, with strong potential for extension.

 

The Role

Working closely with the site team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day engineering delivery of civil works, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on program and to specification.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate day-to-day site engineering activities
  • Set out and survey works, quality checks and inspections
  • Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers and the broader project team
  • Ensure compliance with design documentation, specifications and drawings
  • Monitor and report on progress against program
  • Support the Project Engineer/Site Manager on all civil works elements
  • Uphold safety, quality and environmental standards on site

About You

  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Previous experience as a Site Engineer on civil infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, earthworks or similar)
  • Strong understanding of civil construction methodology and QA processes
  • Experience with setout, survey equipment and reading civil drawings
  • Well-developed communication skills and the ability to work well within a site team
  • Locally based or willing to travel to the Blue Mountains daily
  • Valid driver's licence and White Card

About the CompanyOur client is delivering a large-scale, high-rise residential development in Broadbeach. You’ll be joining a strong and experienced team of construction professionals, with the opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of the project as it progresses.

The Position


Working closely with the Senior Project Engineer, Project Engineers and Supervisors, you will assist in the day-to-day management of site activities. 

You will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating quality assurance checks, ensuring work is delivered to project quality standards.
  • Onboarding of sub-contractors including the review of QA and WHS documentation.
  • Working with sub-contractors to resolve any WHS, quality or constructability issues.
  • Liaising with consultants and management team to resolve any design issues.
  • Working with contracts team to ensure suppliers and sub-contractors are meeting contractual obligations.
  • Scheduling of work and procurement of materials in line with project programme.
  • Cost reporting to senior engineers and management team, reporting any risks to project budget.

About You

  • Previous experience on Highrise residential build (Essential).
  • Degree qualification in Construction Management.
  • 2-5 years post graduate experience in similar building environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and drawings.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with people at all levels of a project.
  • Ability to prioritise and multi-task, ensuring you ask for support where required.
