Freelance Setting Out Engineer | Setting Out Engineer | Site Engineer

Exeter | £40-£42 per hour (CIS) | Full-Time | Temporary | Minimum 3-Month Contract | Commercial Project

Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Freelance Setting Out Engineer to join a busy commercial construction project in Exeter.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a live site with a well-established contractor and a strong pipeline of ongoing projects. The role is expected to run for a minimum of three months, with potential for extension.

Key Duties

  • Carry out setting out for groundworks, foundations and structural elements.
  • Interpret drawings and site plans accurately.
  • Conduct surveys and checks to ensure works are delivered to specification.
  • Provide technical support to site teams and subcontractors.
  • Maintain QA records and as-built information.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Setting Out Engineer on commercial construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of site surveying and construction methods.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
  • Valid CSCS card.
  • Own setting out kit/equipment, including total station, GPS, etc.
  • Immediate availability preferred.
