Description

Key responsibilities

  • Monitoring and coordinating daily site activities to ensure all work is carried out in accordance with project plans and specifications
  • Conducting site inspections and quality checks to verify workmanship and materials meet required standards
  • Liaising with contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors to resolve issues and maintain project momentum
  • Maintaining accurate site records, including daily logs, progress reports, and documentation of any variations or incidents
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and promoting a safe working environment for all personnel on site
  • Managing site logistics, including material deliveries, equipment placement, and waste management
  • Identifying potential risks and implementing mitigation strategies to minimise delays and cost overruns
  • Providing regular updates to the project management team on progress, milestones, and any issues requiring escalation

What we're looking for

  • A tertiary qualification in civil, structural, or construction engineering, or equivalent professional qualification
  • Minimum 2-4 years' experience working as a Site Engineer or in a similar on-site construction role
  • Proven experience with site inspection, quality assurance, and construction documentation
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, and safety standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office applications
  • A current driving licence and willingness to travel within the Dubbo region as required
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Professional registration or eligibility to register with Engineers Australia (desirable)

Your Role

As Site Engineer, you’ll contribute to the successful delivery of a major residential project. You will provide structural engineering inspections, support project plans, design reviews and construction delivery.

You’ll:

  • Support the delivery of the project playing an engineer and inspector role
  • Providing engineering input throughout project execution phases
  • Reviewing designs, specifications and technical documentation
  • Liaising between contractors and project stakeholders during construction
  • Managing QA documentation, inspections and compliance requirements
  • Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety requirements and industry best practice.

What You’ll Bring

  • 3-7 years of engineering experience
  • Experience working in a site-based engineering role
  • Strong hands-on construction experience
  • Ability to collaborate with design engineers to resolve design issues
  • Qualifications in structural engineering
  • Ability to positively influence contracts and project stakeholders on site
  • Strong report and documentation writing ability
