SITE ENGINEER IN CHESTERFIELD S18

Location: Chesterfield S18
Rate: £350 -£400 per day
Hours: 7.30 to 5pm
Hours Paid per day: 9 hrs paid per day
Job Type: Permanent

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Stridden Limited are recruiting for an established Groundworkers and Civils Contractor who are currently looking for an experienced Site Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.
You will be a key member of their site team, responsible for the technical and quality control of civil engineering works on multiple sites in and around the area.

SITE ENGINEER REQUIREMENTS:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree or HND in Civil Engineering.
  • A minimum of 3 experience as a Site Engineer on groundworks and civil engineering projects across all sectors including housing, industrial, commercial, roads and sewers.
  • Proficiency in setting out using total stations and GPS equipment.
  • A solid understanding of engineering principles, construction methods, and health and safety legislation.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • CSCS card and other relevant certifications.
  • 1 reference on application
  • Ability to commute to various locations in and around the Chesterfield area reliably

Responsibilities

Your role will involve:

  • Setting out and conducting surveys to ensure all work is carried out to the highest level of accuracy, in line with engineering drawings and project specifications.
  • Managing and supervising subcontractors and direct labour, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to the required quality standards.
  • Inspecting and auditing work on-site, implementing quality assurance procedures, and preparing comprehensive daily reports.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for technical queries on site, collaborating closely with the design team, the client, and subcontractors alike.
  • Ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and promoting our safety first culture.
  • Maintaining detailed records of all site activities, including progress, materials, and resources.
  • Mentoring trainee engineers within the company
