Essential Selection Criteria

Applicants must have:

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • At least three years of relevant post-qualification experience as a Civil Engineer.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian engineering principles, construction practices and relevant legislation.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and project coordination skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Planning and managing civil engineering aspects of residential construction projects.
  • Preparing specifications and technical documentation.
  • Conducting site inspections and evaluating soil, drainage and foundation conditions.
  • Coordinating engineering requirements with architects, surveyors, builders and subcontractors.
  • Ensuring construction works comply with Australian Standards, the National Construction Code (NCC), local council requirements and relevant legislation.
  • Monitoring construction progress and providing technical guidance during project delivery.
  • Reviewing engineering calculations, structural reports and construction methodologies.
  • Assisting with cost estimates, project scheduling and resource planning.
  • Identifying engineering risks and implementing practical solutions.
  • Liaising with regulatory authorities and consultants to obtain required approvals.
  • Preparing project reports, engineering documentation and compliance records.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project quality, safety and efficiency.

Desirable

  • Experience in residential housing developments.
  • Knowledge of Victorian building regulations and timber framing code.
  • Experience using engineering and design software such as AutoCAD or similar.
  • Current Australian Driver Licence.

Pay: $90,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
