Alder Group is expanding, and we’re seeking experienced Site Engineers and Project Engineers with a strong background in civil infrastructure, particularly in water and wastewater works. This role will support our current project in Lismore and upcoming works throughout the Northern Rivers. We welcome applicants who are local or open to relocating. Drive‑In Drive‑Out (DIDO) arrangements may also be considered. This role is primarily based onsite and may require travel depending on project locations, so flexibility and a willingness to work across sites are essential. About the role The role would require a combination of site and office-based tasks to support the project delivery teams. Supporting the Site Manager in all aspects of project delivery. Maintaining quality records, inspection test plans, and checklists specific to water infrastructure. Assisting in the implementation and maintenance of a safe working environment. Ensuring all records and reports are captured in Alder’s project management system (Procore). Investigating opportunities for project efficiencies and innovation. Reviewing and recommending procurement packages for water-related components. Assessing subcontractor claims and monitoring progress on site. Ensuring timely close-out of project audit action items. Participating in project start-up and planning meetings. Updating project programs and short-term lookaheads. Identifying and managing key project risks as outlined in project management plans. Conducting site inspections and managing budgets and programs where allocated. Keeping the project team informed of financial and administrative status within authority limits. Coordinating finalisation of contract quality matters post-construction. About You - Skills and Experience Practical experience in a similar role with a reputable civil contractor, ideally in water and wastewater infrastructure Experience working on projects involving treatment plants, pump stations, pipelines, reservoirs, and associated civil works. Relevant Degree (Engineering or similar) or alternative background with proven experience Excellent communication skills – both oral and written Communicates clearly and professionally with a range of stakeholders.
