Responsibilities

Undertake duties within the site recycling operation, as required or directed.

  • Processing various waste material which may include Ferrous/Non-ferrous metals, cardboard.
  • Sorting waste into appropriate streams.
  • Capturing and recording all data accurately including material grades.
  • Operating machinery which may include, Forklift Truck, Compactor, Bailers, Excavators.
  • Complying with company policies, procedures and safe operating procedures for Health and Safety, Quality, Environmental, HR and others Company policies/procedures.
  • Reporting accidents, near misses, hazards and other health and safety matters in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring excellent customer service at all times.
  • Ensuring positive interactions with all site visitors and drivers.
  • Maintain good housekeeping to a safe and high standards.
  • Ensure appropriate PPE is worn at all times.
  • Loading and unloading of vehicles as instructed.
  • Traffic/Pedestrian coordination.
  • Basic equipment maintenance.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of equipment as instructed.
  • Operate all equipment safely and effectively in line with operating procedures
  • Reporting of equipment defects to Depot Manager as soon as possible.
  • Undertake training as required and provided by the company.
  • To be flexible at all times and rotate between tasks according to business requirements.
  • De pollution of End-of-Life Vehicles (ELV’s).
  • Sweeping of the internal and external floors.
  • Cleaning of the welfare and toilet facilities.
