Responsibilities
  • Consider positioning of accommodation for material.
  • Plan site set-up, with pre- team and input from PM, to move labour, plant, and materials around site efficiently coupled with planning internal and external logistics routes through the project phases.
  • Pre-plan the usage of key assets such as MEWP’s to ensure planned assets meet the needs of the program. Ensure project sequencing is considered to optimise positioning.
  • Ensure that project has key involvement in the smooth operation of the supply chain both upstream and downstream.
  • Ensure there is an effective system in place to manage and control our supply chain inbound deliveries to the project.
  • Ensure the capable managing a team of General operatives, and or material coordinator in carrying the requirements of the Projects.
  • Receive emails of when deliveries are arriving.
  • Log Deliveries onto client’s tracker.
  • Receive deliveries from suppliers, unload into storage compound and into CA container.
  • Bring material from site storage compound to work areas for installers, time wise this depends on project size and manpower. On average 1-2km away from work areas.
  • Organize nitrogen packs to different parts of the building including roof.
  • Liaise with teleporter driver & construction manager on site.
  • Liaise with crane driver construction manager on site.
  • Attend toolbox talks
  • Ensure early engagement with are the project planner; the commercial managers procuring the works and the project manager.
  • Ensure that the construction team is fully aware of logistics activities in support of the build program.
  • Anticipate and proactively resolve issues using internal and external resources.
  • Discuss technical requirements and specifications.
  • Establish if required an off project staging area for intermediate deliveries.
  • The Receiving of Materials and the carrying out of logbook of transactions (Goods receiving etc.)
