Essential

• Education:
• Skilled in all building service areas.
• Experience:
• Experience in facilities, property management, or related field.
• Evidence / references for quality of past work.
• Proficient in the operation of hire plants such as mixers, drills, saws, breakers, diggers, dumpers, compressors.
• Computer skills: Strong PC literacy and proven ability to manage daily activities using various systems.
• Communication: Good standard of written and oral communication. Able to communicate at all levels.

Desirable

• Experience of working within the food industry
• Licences for forklift, cherry picker an advantage

THE PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Working alongside the maintenance team, your role will require you to work in a responsible manner carrying out general repairs as directed by the Engineering Manager to the internal and external fabric of the buildings. You will be required to deliver a wide range of planned and reactive works in line with local policies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Carrying out daily planned / unplanned fabric maintenance and preventative maintenance to the buildings and Services. Duties will include, but not limited to: -
• Routine industrial boiler checks. Daily, weekly, monthly etc
• PAT Testing
• Weekly fire alarm test.
• Annual checks of the site emergency lighting.
• Brick / block work repairs and re-pointing
• Wall / ceiling painting, decorating, tiling, plastering and mastic sealing
• Resin Floor laying and repairs
• Repairs to wall cladding and capping
• Door locks/closures, frames, fitting, routing, adjusting and associated furniture, handles, locks, glazing
• Small drain works
• Simple plumbing, guttering and downpipes
• Suspended ceilings
• Hanging of wall mounted items; Shelving, dispensers, notice boards etc.
• Simple joinery / carpentry
• Lifting and shifting of items when required
• Fencing and post erecting
• Fitting of cupboards / kitchen units and toilet furniture
• Tarmac patching
• Anchoring of barriers and posts to concrete floors
• Erecting of timber frames
• Must be extremely organised and able to prioritise a demanding workload. Ability to multitask, meeting close deadlines, prioritising tasks to ensure site standards are high and audit compliance is met.
• Must be able to come up with solutions to any issues/problems/defects.
• Sourcing and organising the delivery of building materials and hire plant.
• Strong attention to detail.
