30 hours per week. 7am until 1pm Monday to Friday.
Salary: NJC Grade C/D scale point 6 £25,989 FTE - £21,072.16 pro-rata.
The Harrogate Hub are looking to appoint a Site Maintenance Operative to our premises teams. The successful candidate will be primarily based at Willow Tree Primary School with opportunity to work across all 5 schools in the Harrogate Hub.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and flexible individual to join our premises team, working under the direction of the Business Manager and School Senior Leadership Team. As part of the role, there will be opportunity to work across other NSAT schools in Harrogate and be part of the ‘hub’ premises team.

The role is varied and you will be responsible for a range of areas including:

  • Ensuring safety, security and general upkeep of school grounds and buildings
  • Liaising with contractors to ensure planned and unplanned maintenance and repairs are completed effectively and in a timely manner
  • Completing minor repairs/projects
  • Completing weekly and monthly H&S checks and ensuring H&S issues are dealt with quickly and effectively
  • Willow Tree Primary only: Having joint responsibility (with other premises staff) to manage the school swimming pool including cleaning, water testing and health and safety procedures. The successful candidate will be required to successfully complete the ‘Pool Plant Operator’ qualification within 8 months of starting the role.
  • This post requires and enhanced DBS due to working in a school environment

You will need to be confident using IT in order to record and monitor general tasks and upload results to the relevant system (training provided). The successful candidate will have experience of general maintenance and be prepared to learn the intricacies and upkeep of Willow Tree Swimming Pool as well as undertaking relevant training courses as required.
