JOB OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Site Manager to lead the civil and electrical installation for a 132kV grid connection at a Solar PV site in Nottingham.
This role is crucial for the successful execution of a new electrical grid connection, contributing to the development of renewable energy infrastructure.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Full & Current Driving Licence.
  • SMSTS certification.
  • First Aid at Work certification.
  • CSCS (black card).
  • Electrical qualifications (preferred).
  • HV Electrical Certification/Experience (preferred).
  • Civil/Construction qualifications (preferred).
  • Strong HSE awareness: Report risks and hazards.
  • Proficiency with technical and business software.
  • Ability to read and understand Electrical and Construction drawings.
  • Knowledge of Electrical Isolation (LOTO) procedures: LV & HV.
  • Understanding of electrical standards and regulations.
  • Experience managing utility energy assets and/or energy distribution assets.
  • Commercial acumen: Knowledge of commercial contracts.
  • Experience in utility solar or storage construction (preferred).
Responsibilities
  • Manage the Civil and Electrical installation: Oversee all aspects of the project.
  • Lead on-site teams: Schedule work, manage rosters, track KPIs, ensure safety, and support team development.
  • Oversee 3rd party contractors: Ensure smooth collaboration and integration.
  • Manage project budget: Report and coordinate with the Commercial team.
  • Enforce safety policies: Ensure the wellbeing of all staff.
  • Conduct Quality and Safety Inspections/Audits.
  • Handle contractual requirements: Manage variations, estimates, and approvals.
  • Represent the company locally: Engage with landowners and local stakeholders.
  • Communicate effectively: Liaise with clients, project managers, and subcontractors.
  • Promote teamwork: Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Ensure compliance: Follow Health & Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
  • Conduct risk assessments: Implement and audit Safe Systems of Work (SSOW).
  • Promote a healthy work environment.
