Company Overview: We are a leading construction company with a reputation for delivering high-quality projects across various sectors, including commercial, residential, and retail. With an exciting project with a value of up to £600,00.00 and we are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Site Manager to manage the day-to-day activities, focusing on health & safety and ensuring the smooth operation of the project. This position is on a permanent or a temporary basis for the duration of the project.
Role Overview: As Site Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the site. You will be responsible for ensuring that all activities are carried out safely and efficiently, while maintaining accurate daily records of site progress. You will collaborate closely with the Project Manager and other site personnel to ensure the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager on new build or commercial projects, with a focus on retail or similar developments.
  • Strong knowledge of health & safety regulations, including risk assessments, method statements, and safe working practices.
  • Excellent ability to record and document daily site activities, producing clear and concise reports.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and site teams effectively, with a strong focus on teamwork and communication.
  • A relevant Site Management qualification (e.g, SMSTS, First Aid, CSCS, DBS) or equivalent.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritise tasks efficiently.
  • A proactive and hands-on approach, with the ability to resolve issues and ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Must be prepared to travel to another local site if needed when this job comes to an end.

Responsibilities
  • Health & Safety Management: Take full responsibility for site health & safety, ensuring all site activities are carried out in compliance with legal regulations and company policies.
  • Site Supervision: Oversee daily site activities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
  • Daily Records: Maintain accurate and detailed daily records of site activities, including progress reports, site personnel, deliveries, and any incidents or issues.
  • Team Management: Supervise and manage site operatives, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring clear communication and a collaborative working environment.
  • Site Inspections: Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and implement corrective actions to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Co-ordination: Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure the site operates smoothly, providing updates on progress, delays, and any safety concerns.
  • Problem Solving: Address any issues or challenges that arise on-site promptly and efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to the project timeline.
  • Quality Control: Assist with quality assurance processes, ensuring the project is completed to the highest standards.
  • Temporary works Co-Ordinator: Ensure TW are properly planned, designed and implemented.
