JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking highly motivated and experienced Senior Civil Engineers to take on the role of Site Manager / Site Resident Civil Engineer for the delivery of onshore renewable solar energy projects in Ireland.
The successful candidates will play a pivotal role in managing the day-to-day operations and performance of contractors on-site. You will ensure the project is executed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while maintaining compliance with all environmental, commercial, and contractual obligations.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in civil engineering, with a proven track record in construction site management for energy infrastructure projects.
  • Strong working knowledge and experience administering FIDIC Contracts.
  • Experience leading stakeholder engagement with both internal teams and external authorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project risks and deliver solutions in a commercially driven environment.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and independent decision-making capabilities.
  • High proficiency in writing clear and structured technical reports.
  • Valid full driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience acting as Site Manager on energy infrastructure projects.
  • Experience acting as PSCS (Project Supervisor for the Construction Stage) under Irish regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS ESSENTIAL:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Level 8) in Civil Engineering or equivalent.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • SafePass and Manual Handling certification (mandatory).
  • Must provide own standard PPE: Hard Hat (with chinstrap), Safety Glasses, High-Visibility Coat/Vest, Safety Boots, and Gloves.
  • Must have access to personal mobile phone, laptop/PC, and internet connection, and be able to conduct business professionally throughout the engagement.

    Pay: €550.00-€600.00 per day

Responsibilities
  • Manage, monitor, and supervise all on-site activities of contractors for solar projects under a multi-contract delivery model, spanning enabling works, construction, and commissioning.
  • Administer the main contractors’ contracts on site, discharging responsibilities as delegated by the Engineer under the FIDIC framework.
  • Champion health, safety, and environmental compliance, addressing the specific challenges of solar energy construction sites.
  • Serve as the primary on-site liaison for the project team.
  • Monitor progress, identify risks, and produce regular project reports for stakeholders and senior management.
  • Coordinate with project managers, design engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews and audits of civil works throughout the construction phase.
  • Promptly identify, assess, and help resolve issues and conflicts on site.
  • Maintain accurate site records including daily logs, inspection documentation, and incident reports.
  • Support the evaluation and resolution of contractor claims and commercial risks.
