Join the vibrant team at 48 Flavours! We are seeking an experienced, organised and self-motivated Supervisor or Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Henley Beach and Fulham Gardens stores.

This is a hands-on, multi-site leadership role suited to someone who enjoys working with customers, developing staff and taking responsibility for the smooth and successful operation of two busy hospitality locations.

About the Role

Working across both stores, you will be responsible for maintaining operational standards, supporting and training team members, and ensuring our customers consistently receive friendly and efficient service.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing the day-to-day operations of both stores
• Leading, supporting and motivating team members
• Training and developing new and existing staff
• Ensuring company procedures and service standards are consistently followed
• Assisting with staff rostering and shift coverage
• Monitoring team performance and providing feedback
• Managing stock levels, stock counts and store ordering
• Overseeing opening and closing procedures
• Handling payments, balancing registers and monitoring cash-handling procedures
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety and store presentation
• Ensuring takeaway and online orders are prepared accurately and efficiently
• Responding professionally to customer feedback and resolving concerns
• Preparing and decorating gelato cakes when required
• Working closely with the Operations Manager to improve store performance
• Completing general administrative and operational duties across both locations

This is a practical leadership role, and the successful applicant will be expected to work alongside the team during busy service periods.

Cake-making experience is not required, as full training will be provided. However, you will need good attention to detail, a willingness to learn and an interest in maintaining our cake presentation standards.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who is:

• An experienced leader: Able to confidently supervise staff, delegate responsibilities and maintain standards across two locations.
• Operationally focused: Comfortable taking ownership of store performance, staffing, stock control and day-to-day procedures.
• A capable trainer: Patient and confident when coaching team members and helping them develop their skills.
• Confident and sociable: Comfortable engaging with customers and creating a welcoming in-store experience.
• Customer-focused: Passionate about delivering excellent service and resolving customer concerns professionally.
• Organised and reliable: Able to manage competing priorities, work across two stores and follow through on responsibilities.
• Proactive and accountable: Able to identify issues, make sound decisions and take action without needing constant direction.
• Quick on their feet: Comfortable multitasking and solving problems in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
• Creative and detail-oriented: Interested in learning how to prepare and decorate our gelato cakes.
• Flexibly available: Able to work a mixture of daytime, evening and weekend shifts, including late nights and public holidays.

Previous supervisory or management experience in hospitality, retail or a similar customer-focused environment is highly regarded.

Availability during the festive and summer periods is essential.

Position Details

• Casual position initially, with the opportunity to move into a full-time management role for the right applicant
• Approximately 30–38 hours per week
• Working across our Henley Beach and Fulham Gardens stores
• Mixture of weekday, daytime, evening and weekend shifts
• Full training provided, including company procedures and gelato cake preparation
• Ongoing support from the Operations Manager

What's the opportunity?

As Site Manager, you'll be responsible for the overall leadership, performance and success of Secret Garden.

You'll lead a team of specialists including the Café Supervisor, Horticulturalist and Maintenance & Animal Care Officer, ensuring each area of the site contributes to an outstanding visitor experience and strong commercial outcomes.

This role is about seeing the opportunities others don't.

Growing visitation. Creating new revenue streams. Developing partnerships. Delivering memorable experiences. Building a destination that the local community loves and visitors actively seek out.

You'll be the person who connects all the moving pieces and turns potential into performance.

✅ Driving commercial success across retail, nursery sales, venue hire, events, visitor experiences and hospitality offerings

✅ Partner with NWDS operational teams to ensure the site effectively supports participant programs and activities
