Site Measurement & Documentation Technician (Contract)
Location: Various project sites
Employment Type: Contract/Per-Project
Compensation: $150-$200 CAD per project
About This Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Site Measurement & Documentation Technician to support our design team by conducting precise field measurements and providing comprehensive site documentation. This contract-based position offers flexible scheduling and competitive project-based compensation for qualified candidates with experience in architectural measurement and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Site Measurement & Analysis: Perform accurate and comprehensive measurements of project sites, including all key dimensions (width, length, height) and existing MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) components
  • Visual Documentation: Capture high-quality photographs of project sites for design team reference and documentation purposes
  • Technical Sketching: Create clear, dimensionally accurate sketches and basic floor plans to illustrate site layouts and measurements
  • Data Management: Compile and submit measurement notes, sketches, and photographic documentation in a timely and organized manner
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all measurements and documentation meet project requirements and company standards

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or graduate from an Architecture or Architectural Technology program
  • Proven experience in site measurement and field documentation work
  • Proficiency with both digital and physical measurement tools (tape measures, laser measuring devices, etc.)
  • Ability to create basic floor plan sketches with accurate dimensional notation
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Capability to work independently and meet project deadlines
  • Reliable transportation to various project sites

Preferred Qualifications

  • AutoCAD experience is considered an asset
  • Previous experience in construction, architecture, or related field
  • Familiarity with building systems and MEP components

Work Arrangement

  • Project-based schedule with advance notice of site locations and timing
  • Independent contractor position with flexible scheduling
  • Projects assigned based on availability and geographic proximity
  • All necessary project information and site access details provided in advance
