The client provides turnkey civil engineering contracting services including, bulk earthworks, site enabling works, roads, drainage, landfill, contaminated land remediation, wastewater treatment plants and concrete structures across all industry sectors.

They also own and operate a large fleet of civil engineering plant. We are accredited to all of the relevant systems of Total Quality Management including, ISO-9001, ISO—14001 and OHSAS—18001.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

The client is seeking a dedicated Site Manager / Project Manager with a strong background in planning applications, team management, and stakeholder engagement within the construction and development sector with a particular focus on strategic infrastructure development.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in overseeing planning applications, liaising with planning authorities, coordinating with design teams, and ensuring compliance with environmental impact assessments. This role requires a strategic thinker who is familiar with infrastructure projects, understands the importance of ecological considerations in project planning.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Comprehensive Planning Applications Management: Support the Project Director in leading the preparation and submission of planning applications, ensuring comprehensive compliance with local regulations and standards. Serve as the primary liaison with planning authorities to facilitate smooth approval processes.
  • Effective Team Leadership and Coordination: Utilize exceptional people and team skills to manage, motivate, and guide design teams. Conduct effective meetings, leverage interpersonal skills to achieve project milestones, and ensure timely delivery of all project components.
  • Strategic Project Coordination: Oversee coordination with EIAR experts during procurement and outsourcing phases, emphasizing adherence to project timelines and ecological survey requirements. Demonstrate awareness of technical and environmental aspects without direct technical involvement.
  • Advanced Programming and Timeline Management: Employ advanced knowledge of programming concepts, including critical path methods, to meticulously manage project timelines. Identify potential delays proactively and implement strategic solutions to maintain schedule integrity.
  • Enhanced Stakeholder Communication: Engage effectively with all project stakeholders, including legal teams for judicial review and oral hearings, ensuring clear understanding and alignment with project objectives. Facilitate seamless integration of project components through excellent communication.
  • Introductory Contract and Measurement Understanding: Demonstrate a foundational understanding of contracts and methods of measurement, contributing to project planning, budgeting, and execution phases, even with limited direct experience.
