Gardener is an open-source project that provides a Kubernetes-as-a-Service solution, enabling the management of Kubernetes clusters at scale. It is designed to offer a high degree of automation, flexibility, and reliability, making it easier for organizations to deploy, manage, and scale their Kubernetes environments. The Gardener Landscape Stability Team focuses on ensuring the robustness and stability of these environments, ensuring seamless operations and continuous improvement for our clusters on public cloud, hybrid or SAP owned infrastructures.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

As an Engineer in the Gardener Landscape Stability Team, you will function as both a DevOps Engineer and Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), playing a key role in maintaining and improving the stability and performance of our Kubernetes landscapes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement best practices, automate processes, and ensure the reliability of our systems.
We believe in the power of different perspectives, and we encourage everyone who has a passion for technology and design to apply.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Collaborating with development teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of new features and updates.
  • Monitoring system performance and implementing improvements to enhance stability and cost efficiency.
  • Automating routine tasks to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention, as well as improving mechanisms for landscape setups.
  • Serve as technical expert during incidents, investigate and resolve issues at a deep technical level.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues and participate in Support-rotations for critical systems.
  • Learn new technologies and keep up to date with latest product releases
Join us to make a tangible impact in the open-source community and help shape the future of Kubernetes management tools.
