Commercial Banking Tribe

You’ll be joining the Commercial Bank Tribe, who is focusing on the special needs of the small and medium enterprise clients in Germany, a designated area for further growth and investment within Corporate Bank.

We are responsible for the digital transformation of ~800.000 clients in 3 brands, i.e. the establishment of the BizBanking platform including development of digital sales and service processes as well as the automation of processes for this client segment.

Our tribe is on a journey of an extensive digitalisation of business processes and to migrate our applications to the cloud. On that we are working jointly together with our business colleagues in an agile setup and collaborating closely with stakeholders and engineers from other areas thriving to achieve a highly automated and adoptable process and application landscape.

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (f/m/x) you will take end-to-end ownership for the reliability, automation, deployment readiness and operational excellence of our platform capabilities, acting as a senior technical partner for application squads and driving engineering standards across infrastructure, observability and release processes.

Your key responsibilities

• You will lead the technical enablement of application teams by defining and implementing standards for automated deployment, recovery, observability and operational readiness.
• You will own and continuously improve reliable, compliant and repeatable deployment patterns in line with bank standards, including advanced scripting, infrastructure automation and pipeline engineering.
• You will coordinate and technically steer complex production releases across development, infrastructure, security and operations teams, ensuring release quality, risk transparency and smooth transition into production.
• You will drive observability, incident prevention and problem management by analysing infrastructure and application behaviour, identifying systemic issues and guiding teams towards sustainable remediation.
• You will act as a senior engineer in an agile setup, mentoring colleagues, challenging existing ways of working and contributing to platform strategy, engineering governance and continuous improvement.

Your skills and experiences

• You bring extensive senior-level experience as a DevOps Engineer, Configuration Manager or Site Reliability Engineer, with proven ownership of mission-critical platforms or large-scale production environments.
• You have a strong track record in mobile app deployment, maintenance and production support, including release coordination, operational readiness and continuous service improvement.
• You have very good hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as GCP, Azure or AWS, including secure infrastructure design, automation, monitoring and resilience patterns.
• You have very good hands-on experience with GitHub, Terraform, Docker and container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes, and can guide others in applying these technologies effectively.
• You have deep experience in designing, developing and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines, including quality gates, security controls, deployment automation and production-grade release processes.
• You are comfortable influencing senior stakeholders, mentoring engineers and translating reliability, risk and governance requirements into pragmatic engineering solutions.
