Job Title: Site Reliability Engineer (Pharmaceutical Industry)
Contract: 12 months with the potential of becoming permanent
Location: Westport, County Mayo, Ireland
Salary: €30 - 40 per hour

OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced Reliability Engineer for a global pharmaceutical client in Westport. The role focuses on continuous improvement to reduce equipment and utility-related risk and ensure engineering compliance. Supports the Maintenance Excellence Programme (MEP) by targeting critical assets for optimisation and performance improvement.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Engineering degree with 3+ years’ experience, or trade qualification with 6+ years in engineering.
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Proven problem-solving ability under pressure.
  • Innovative thinker with attention to detail and compliance.
  • Results-driven, with a commitment to quality.
  • High integrity and strong work ethic.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Embed MEP principles into site culture.
  • Develop and maintain compliant equipment maintenance procedures.
  • Monitor equipment and systems performance.
  • Track, analyse, and improve key MEP KPIs (asset utilisation, maintenance costs, compliance, schedule).
  • Apply methods to reduce failure likelihood in site systems.
  • Use predictive maintenance tools and technologies.
  • Conduct RCFA, RCM, FMEA, FTA, and PM optimisation.
  • Train staff on reliability processes and the impact of their roles.
  • Review work orders, support planners, and promote preventive maintenance.
  • Analyse failure trends and develop long-term solutions.
  • Review maintenance/install plans; define reliability specs for new equipment.
  • Contribute to department targets and conduct internal audits.
  • Support external audits and ensure safety standards are met.
  • Use Maximo (CMMS) proficiently.
  • Manage Engineering Change Control to avoid non-conformances.
  • Share knowledge and actively contribute to team performance.
