Join us as our new Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) for R&D Linux Platform We are looking for a site reliability engineer to join us and help us build and maintain the on-premise infrastructure used by our Research and Development (R&D). We provide the core platform and infrastructure for data storage, analysis, and data science activities in Research and Development (R&D). We have the full operational responsibility for everything in our data center, enabling a flexible environment where the time from idea to solutions is cut to a bare minimum. The infrastructure you will be working on is on-premise and built on the following low level components: • Ubuntu Linux • Ansible • Ceph • Proxmox • Libvirt/KVM • Dell/SuperMicro/Lenovo servers • Mellanox/FS/Dell switches We strive to use open-source software where possible. We support core research processes and are responsible for many specialized IT systems. In your daily work you will be responsible for the operations, maintenance, and continued design and development of our IT setup in close collaboration with our internal software development teams and users. You will work in a diverse team of highly skilled people with competences across IT and biology. Some travel can be expected. In this role you’ll make an impact by: Enabling cutting edge science by providing digital infrastructure Ensuring operational stability of our platforms Helping build scalable solution for global deployment Potentially relevant experience: A degree in IT or equivalent experience Strong experience with troubleshooting and fixing Linux-based deployments Good understanding of network infrastructure Experience with server hardware and datacenter operations A desire to drive automation and continuous improvement Scripting experience with Python and shell Fluency in spoken and written English Experience with the Grafana stack, Nagios, Slurm, SGE, Bacula, Apache and Postfix/Mailman is an advantage.
