Piper Companies is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join a dynamic Cloud Services team in a fully remote role (U.S.-based). This is a highly technical, client-facing position focused on cloud architecture, security, and automation across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of experience in systems engineering and architecture.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and automation.
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native services and security principles.
  • Experience working within Agile development teams.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent professional experience.
  • Deep expertise in Windows or Linux operating systems.
Responsibilities
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in cloud technologies, guiding clients through architecture, design, and deployment using Infrastructure-as-Code and automation tools.
  • Collaborate with top Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) to drive digital transformation and enhance cloud security.
  • Design and implement security tools and platforms such as Tenable, Trend Micro, AquaSec, Microsoft Defender, and Burp Suite.
  • Develop strategic cloud and security roadmaps, including future-state architectures.
  • Perform cloud configuration assessments and maturity evaluations.
  • Translate client objectives into secure, scalable, and efficient cloud solutions.
  • Build and maintain secure enterprise infrastructure using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
  • Operate across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments, leveraging native services and automation.
  • Support security assessment and authorization processes.
  • Produce and review technical documentation and enforce cloud security best practices.
