DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Expert for our client in Amsterdam.
The focus is on further maturing, developing, and expanding state-of-the-art payment and settlement platforms. The organization provides safe, reliable, and compliant payment and settlement services, structured as a service-based organization with clear priorities and responsibilities.
As a Site Reliability Engineering Expert, you will play a crucial role in guiding teams toward achieving their Site Reliability Engineering objectives. You will operate with a high level of autonomy, with a strong focus on stakeholder alignment and collaboration in an international, distributed environment.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Extensive knowledge of Linux (RHEL) or Windows
  • Experience with SQL/RDBMS (Oracle, MS SQL) or NoSQL (Cassandra)
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD (preferably Azure DevOps)
  • Experience with monolithic application landscapes
  • Familiar with at least one programming language
  • Knowledge of networking (IPv4/IPv6)
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (Prometheus, ELK, Grafana; open telemetry a plus)
  • Solid understanding of SRE principles (SLI, SLO, error budgets, availability reporting)
  • Knowledge of containers and cloud tooling
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to mentor and coach other Site Reliability Engineering Experts
Responsibilities
  • Perform in-depth reviews and analysis of monitoring and alerting setups
  • Review and analyze resilience architectural design
  • Deliver knowledge sessions on SRE topics (SLI/SLO, resilience testing, DR plans, toil reduction)
  • Support root cause analysis and post-mortems, identifying improvement actions
  • Use data analysis to identify structural improvements and advocate them within the organization
  • Provide hands-on support for monitoring and alerting standards
  • Contribute to global SRE Guild and internal SRE capabilities
