JOB OVERVIEW:

We seek an experienced Site Safety Professional to oversee the Accident Prevention Plan (APP) and compliance with OSHA and USACE EM 385-1-1 safety standards for a USACE disaster project. This role involves on-site safety supervision, hazard assessments, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and enforce the Accident Prevention Plan (APP).
  • Conduct daily safety briefings and toolbox talks for all personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, USACE, EM 385-1-1, and other applicable safety regulations.
  • Identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct accident investigations, submit reports, and recommend safety improvements.
  • Oversee the use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), hazard controls, and safe work practices.
  • Ensure all contractors and subcontractors follow workplace safety guidelines.
  • Maintain detailed safety records and documentation in compliance with contract requirements.
  • Coordinate with the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) and Quality Control Manager on safety-related issues.
  • Ensure compliance with FEMA, EPA, and environmental regulations regarding hazardous material handling.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA regulations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Provide training to employees on safety practices, emergency procedures, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Collaborate with project managers to integrate safety into construction management processes.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incident reports.
