JOB BRIEF.

Our team is looking for an experienced Site Safety and Health Officer to manage assigned projects overseeing all aspects of safety, health, and environmental management onsite. Additionally, you will administer and ensure adherence to safety policies and programs and communicate safety issues to the Regional Safety and Health Manager, Corporate Safety and Health Manager, and Corporate Safety Director. To succeed, you must ensure MEB’s core values are being lived on the project every day and that quality, health, and safety standards on site are your top priority.

SKILLS YOU POSSESS.

  • Previous experience as a construction site safety and health officer or in a similar role
  • Ability to recognize hazardous situations and recommend corrective measures.
  • Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the environmental and safety compliance fields.
  • Knowledge of local quality, safety, and health guidelines for construction job sites
  • As a minimum, must have completed the 30-hour OSHA construction safety class or as an equivalent, 30 hours of formal construction safety and health training covering the subjects of the OSHA 30-hour course.
  • In-depth understanding of construction operations and processes
  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Strong organizational, record-keeping and follow-up skills.
  • Must be able to achieve the Safety Trained Supervisor (STS-C) certification within 90 days of employment.
