Position Location This is position is located onsite in Harmon, Guam. Job Overview The Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a safety program that aligns with regulatory systems, contract strategies and organizational policies and procedures. The incumbent advises on changes and provides training, tools, and techniques to enable others to achieve safe work practice and environments. This position is designed to establish and maintain a strong safety culture through awareness and commitment, while mitigating risk factors, for operations and maintenance on site. The SSHO is responsible for the safety responsiveness, and compliance of the company’s safety plan. Responsibilities Essential Duties: Develop and implement safety procedures, policies and Safety Plan as needed. Perform safety audits, investigates accidents and ensures any needed corrective actions are completed. Performs safety surveys (e.g. noise surveys, air monitoring, time and motion studies) to support personal protective equipment (PPE) policies. Develop, implement, and maintain site safety programs, including the following: Confined Space Entry, (Lockout/Tagout), Fall Protection, Personal Protective Equipment, Hearing Conservation, Fire Prevention, Accident Investigation and Reporting, Electrical Safety and General Procedures – As needed. Prep site AHA reports, ensure other reports and permits are IAW policy and SOW. Performs other related work as assigned. Job Requirements Mandatory: Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in safety program management. Knowledge of Government contracting terminology and requirements. Knowledge of pertinent safety regulations and requirements necessary to fulfil the contractual obligations at the site project. Knowledge and previous experience in accident investigation and reporting principles and practices regards Safety. Ability to obtain access to U.S. Government Installations through the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS). Valid state driver’s license. Preferred: USACE and/or NAVFAC experience Working Conditions: This position is primarily performed on project sites, office setting and workshop.
