Description
Title:     Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) III Supervisor:     Safety Manager                Department:     Safety FLSA Status:     Exempt Summary/Objective The SSHO III directly reports to the Safety Manager(s); assists in the enforcement and training of safety plans, policies, and procedures; checklists, data tables and reference sheets, and similar administrative and field work duties through, inspections, interaction with employees; moderate field work is required to complete tasks and may require some weekend and holiday work. The SSHO III should be able to conduct weekly safety brief/toolbox brief. Candidate must have excellent communication skills, intermediate technical skills, and ability and ambition to learn. Must be able to lift and carry at least 40lbs.  Essential Functions * Provide site compliance through daily inspections and Tracking Deficiency Log. * Perform desktop and field audits for compliance and adherence to company safety policies and procedures. * Responsible for the development and/or review of Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) * Responsible for enforcing the project Accident Prevention Plan.  * Provide management and oversight of site-specific safety activities. Examples –lockout/tag out activities, etc.  * Support other site-safety and health officers in the field with the research and guidance of compliance related methodologies. * Perform compliance inspections on personnel and work activities in accordance with national, local, and federal law. * Communicate safety related program requirements, as necessary, and perform regular inspections on adherence to training requirements. * Facilitate some required trainings to ensure site remains in compliance with all laws, regulations, and company policies. * Assist in the enforcement of programs, policies, and procedures to verify compliance, injury reduction and sustainable management system elements. * Perform safety risk assessments through regular job walk throughs and inspections in critical facilities, work environments, and construction areas.  * Attend all required company and client meetings. * Conduct New Hire Safety Indoctrination training * Have a good understanding of what the OSHA 300, 300A, and 301 forms are and their purpose. * Act as point of contact for safety and environmental incidents, investigations, and mishap reporting requirements. * Coordinate emergency response plans, drills, and procedures. * Other duties as assigned.  Competencies and Basic Requirements * Five (5) years of experience with safety related job duties and/or in critical environments or construction projects as a lead safety point-of-contact. * Valid applicable safety training(s) related to job responsibilities. * Proven experience researching federal regulations of OSHA and United Sates Army Corps of Engineer Health and Safety Manual (USACE EM385-1-1). * Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. * Must be proficient in WhatsApp  * 30-Hour OSHA Construction or General Industry Training Certification * Must be able to obtain access to U.S. military bases Preferred Qualifications * A Minimum of five  years of experience performing safety inspections in critical environments or construction projects. * 30-Hour OSHA Construction / General Industry Training Certification or equivalent within the last five years. An average of at least 24 hours of formal safety training each year for the past five years. * 40-Hour EM385-1-1 Safety Awareness Training for Contractors * 40-Hour HAZWOPER training * Demonstrate in depth knowledge of EM385-1-1, OSHA 29 CFR 1910 AND 1926 * Valid First Aid CPR Certification Supervisory Responsibility This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment This position operates in a professional office environment with occasional field work at job sites.  Physical Demands Must be able to lift and carry at least 40lbs.  Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. This position must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes occasional evenings/early mornings, weekends, and holidays. Travel No travel is expected for this position. Responsibilities
