SUPERIOR SKILLED TRADES IS SEEKING A SAFETY OFFICER FOR AN IMMEDIATE START FOR A PROJECT IN NEAR LAUREL, MD!

  • PAY: $45 - $50 per hour (Based on Experience)
  • HOURS: 40+ Hours per week
  • SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, 7am-3:30pm
  • DURATION: 6+ months but could be Temp to Perm

REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSTRUCTION SAFETY OFFICER:

  • Active experience in RMS
  • Past 3 consecutive years as the SSHO
  • Must have minimum of 5 years of experience working on a federal US government, military base
  • Must have current OSHA 30-Hour card
  • Must be familiar with requirements of the EM 385 1-1, 2014 version
  • 40HR EM385 Certification preferred
  • Knowledge and experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, requires applicants to be of able body to assist in performing certain portions of the work, and to manage and schedule subcontractors
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of construction means and methods
  • Strong leadership qualities
  • Deadline and detail-oriented

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Must be able to pass background check & drug test
  • Must have reliable transportation to the job site
  • 40HR EM385 Certification (Preferred)
  • Must be familiar with requirements of the EM 385 1-1, 2014 version

Responsibilities
  • Implement EM 385-1-1 requirements
  • Involved in all aspects of construction project from planning to implementation
  • Ability to plan for and assign resources as applicable for projects
  • Supervise safety of all onsite personnel and subcontractors
  • Management/Enforcement of Safety Program and Security Policies
  • Conduct regular safety meetings with trade subcontractors
  • Conduct safety orientation for all new employees onsite
  • Required to ensure all personnel onsite are equipped with proper PPE
  • Interface with project inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, government officials, etc.
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship that adhere to approved plans and specifications
