JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Officer to join our team in a contractor role. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations and promoting a culture of safety at a specific jobsite. This role involves conducting risk assessments, implementing safety protocols, and providing training to employees on occupational health and safety practices. The Safety Officer will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe working environment, at a project on the VA Leeds campus.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience in a Safety Officer role or similar position within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and EM 385-1-1 requirements.
  • MUST have OSHA 30 card, earned in the last 5 years
  • Have either: (7) Years of construction industry safety experience or
  • (3) year if possesses a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Construction Safety and Health Technician (CSHT) certification or
  • Have a safety and health degree from an accredited university or college and (3) years of construction industry safety related experience.
    Job Types: Full-time, Contract
    Pay: $48.00 - $58.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 40 per week
