JOB OVERVIEW

Acierto LLC is seeking a proactive and experienced Site Safety Health Officer (SSHO) to lead and implement safety protocols across federal construction projects, specifically within VA hospitals across the western U.S. This is a mission-critical role responsible for developing, enforcing, and refining jobsite safety programs that meet or exceed OSHA and government contract standards. QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a safety professional in the construction industry.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Must be able to pass a federal background check.
  • OSHA 30 Certification (required).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a professional demeanor.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to lead safety culture on site.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PDFs).
  • Experience using Procore or similar project management platforms.
  • Honest, detail-oriented, and committed to upholding safety compliance and efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the site-specific safety plan/program.
  • Create and update Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) for each phase of work.
  • Conduct and document daily safety briefings, toolbox talks, and safety meetings.
  • Perform site inspections, identify potential hazards, and ensure corrective actions are taken.
  • Manage and maintain site safety documentation and personnel certifications (OSHA 10/30).
  • Maintain accurate and timely safety-related entries in daily project reports.
  • Coordinate closely with the superintendent, subcontractors, and client representatives to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Participate in weekly project progress meetings and report on safety performance.
  • Use Procore or similar software to manage reports, documentation, and records.
  • Be available for after-hours or weekend work based on project needs.
