DESCRIPTION

NexGen is seeking a dedicated Camp Attendant for our remote Rook I site. The position offers rotational shifts, with individual accommodations and bathrooms provided during your on-site time. Reporting to the Camp Foreperson and the Construction Manager, the Camp Attendant will be responsible for maintaining the smooth operation of the camp, ensuring all machinery and equipment are in optimal working condition, and that the camp environment is comfortable for all occupants.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE

  • Certificates: CSTS & WHMIS 2015 required.
  • Physical Ability: Capable of lifting 50 lbs regularly and performing tasks that involve bending, stretching, and carrying.
  • Experience in mechanical and/or carpentry work is an asset.
  • Current Equipment operating tickets or experience considered an asset.
  • Previous facility maintenance would be considered an asset.
  • Able to work as a Team with members at all levels to meet deliverable deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Camp Maintenance: General site and facility daily maintenance (examples include minor ground repairs, laydown/yard organization, minor wood works, grass cutting/trimming, weed/scrub removal, replacement of light bulbs, batteries.)
  • Machinery and Equipment Repair: Conduct preventative maintenance inspections on vehicles and equipment.
  • Monitor inventory supply levels and supplies as needed.
  • Provide daily and weekly reports to supervisors on camp activities and the progress of ongoing programs. Report any issues or concerns to the supervisor/management team promptly.
  • Keeping accurate records of work completed and hours worked.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with the company’s safety, environmental, and confidentiality protocols.
  • Participate in regular team meetings to provide updates on progress and discuss any challenges.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other reasonable tasks as requested by management.
