EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 0-1 year of experience in a laboratory setting preferred.
  • Experience in customer service is a plus.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Strong communication skills with a commitment to delivering excellent customer service, including maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor in all interactions and upholding Thermo Fisher Scientific’s values.
  • Strong customer service orientation with the interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various levels of personnel at the customer site.
  • Proficient in operating handheld scanners for data entry into various systems, and possessing analytical skills to reconcile reports.
  • Demonstrates computer proficiency and basic skills in the Microsoft Office suite. Capable of multitasking and meeting deadlines as required.
  • Ability to understand and navigate the complexities of various work environments, working safely and following all policies and procedures.
  • Effective customer interface communication skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Primarily works at customer sites, which may require independent work at these locations. Work areas may include environments where chemical-based allergens are present (such as penicillin, tetracycline, etc.).
  • Depending on the area of the building, personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn. This includes lab coats, coveralls, hoods, facemasks, hairnets, safety gloves, steel-toe shoes (required for all colleagues), bump hats, and/or safety glasses.
  • Regularly required to lift 30-40 lbs, and occasionally up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct on-site program replenishments and disbursements.
  • Perform stockroom duties including receiving, put-away, stock rotation, cycle counts, and other tasks as required by the customer.
  • Carry out laboratory services such as chemical inventory receipt/reconciliation, and delivery of direct shipment orders to end users.
  • Work within computer systems to access and follow standard operating procedures.
  • Proactively communicate any customer concerns or potential problems to the supervisor.
  • Effectively address customer concerns within established resolution timeframes.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
  • Analyze, maintain, and reconcile various customer and company reports to ensure collaborator requirements are met.
  • Collaborate effectively with a diverse cross-functional team.
  • Embrace and apply Practical Process Improvement (PPI) methodologies.
