QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in steel construction, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or superintendent role
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale structural steel projects with multiple crews and subcontractors
  • Strong knowledge of steel erection methods, site logistics, rigging, heavy equipment use, and crane operations
  • Experience interpreting structural drawings, specifications, and project schedules
  • Solid understanding of safety regulations and standards, including OSHA requirements
  • Strong leadership and team coordination skills with the ability to motivate field crews and foster a positive work culture
  • Effective communication skills for interfacing with clients, engineers, trades, and internal teams
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines
  • Experience managing change orders, RFIs, and field documentation
  • Ability to travel to project sites across the GTA and Southern Ontario
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying site and weather conditions
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate or oversee operation of job site equipment

Responsibilities
  • Lead day-to-day construction operations on structural steel projects from mobilization to close-out
  • Supervise all on-site personnel, including field crews, subcontractors, and Field Coordinators across multiple job sites
  • Oversee project execution to ensure alignment with scope, schedule, and budget targets
  • Plan daily and weekly construction activities for maximum efficiency and productivity
  • Coordinate field logistics, including equipment staging, crane operations, rigging, and material deliveries
  • Monitor and track progress, resolve delays or issues, and adjust plans to keep projects on track
  • Make timely field decisions, troubleshoot problems, and provide technical direction as needed
  • Enforce site-specific quality control protocols to ensure all work meets engineering specifications and industry standards
  • Implement and uphold job site safety policies in full compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations
  • Conduct site safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety inspections
  • Investigate incidents, implement corrective actions, and maintain thorough safety documentation
  • Serve as the main field liaison for clients, general contractors, and internal project teams
  • Lead regular project meetings to provide updates, coordinate with other trades, and communicate critical changes
  • Manage field change orders, RFI responses, and contract adjustments in collaboration with the project management team
  • Support coordination with engineers, inspectors, and building officials throughout the project lifecycle
  • Maintain detailed records, site reports, and daily logs for schedule, safety, and quality tracking
