NPC Northland Builders is seeking a Site Superintendent to support Northland Properties’ hotel renovation in the Vancouver Area.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in leading all on-site activities to deliver high-quality renovations that uphold brand standards, meet operational timelines, and align with budget expectations. You will lead a self-performing site team and working collaboratively with other divisions, including procurement, operations, construction, and design, as well as enforcing best practices, monitoring project expenditures and maintaining a safe work environment.

Key to success in this role will be the ability to manage competing priorities, lead with accountability, and maintain consistent attention to detail — all while keeping communication clear, proactive, and professional. Your key duties in this role are:

• Supervise and coordinate day-to-day activities of the crew.
• Hire, train, and assign employees, crew and subcontractors, providing coaching, counselling, and discipline if necessary to achieve high performance and quality.
• Monitor and control employees, crew and subcontractors’ performance, communicate job expectations, evaluate job contributions and recommend compensation actions, adhering to policies and procedures.
• Enforce best building practices, conducting daily inspections to maintain construction quality standards, resolving problems and implementing measures to improve efficiency.
• Assist the creation of construction schedules to meet project timelines, standards and budget parameters.
• Monitor project expenditures, identify labour, equipment, and materials variances, and implement corrective actions to meet the construction budget.
• Prevent fines and interruptions by following standards and enforcing codes and regulations.
• Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment.
• Support the growth and development of company culture
• Performs other duties as required

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years of experience in similar roles.
• Strong leadership skills to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team.
• Knowledge and expertise in finishing interior work is an asset.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and construction documentation.
• Familiarity with construction codes, regulations, and industry standards.
• Knowledge of environmental sustainability practices in construction.
• Understanding of all safety procedures, hazard recognition, and proactive risk mitigation to ensure health & safety standards.
• Competence in project scheduling, cost estimation and budget management.
• Knowledge of environmental sustainability practices in construction.
• Ability to track record of successful project delivery, client satisfaction, and adherence to timelines and budgets.
• Experience conducting and facilitating safety training programs.
• Problem-solving ability and proficiency in creating cost-effective solutions.

Salary Range: CAD $80,000–$105,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience
