SITE SUPERINTENDENT (RETAIL PROJECT – NIGHT SHIFT)

Location: Greater Toronto Area
Schedule: Night shift (typically 10:30 PM – 7:00 a.m.)

Penalta is seeking a Night Shift Site Superintendent to lead overnight construction activity on active retail project sites. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and has a proven track record overseeing work in occupied, live-site conditions.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise all night shift construction activity, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to specification.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, deliveries, and inspections to maintain smooth overnight operations.
  • Proactively identify and resolve site issues before they escalate, ensuring minimal disruption to the project schedule.
  • Conduct detailed site walks and inspections throughout the shift to verify quality control, cleanliness, and compliance.
  • Enforce safety protocols and conduct toolbox talks or tailgate meetings as required.
  • Monitor site access and security overnight to ensure safety and adherence to access protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with the day shift team to ensure a clear handoff of progress, concerns, and next steps.
  • Maintain and submit detailed shift reports, including progress updates, site conditions, safety incidents, and photographs.
  • Ensure proper storage, protection, and cleanup of materials and tools at the end of each shift.
  • Serve as the on-site point of contact for after-hours emergencies or urgent decisions.
