Rutherford Contracting is a leading construction company specializing in ICI Buildings, Site Development, Facilities Management and Construction Management. With a commitment to excellence and safety, we deliver high-quality projects to our clients.
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Construction Site Superintendent to join our team in the Site Division. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all on-site activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. The Construction Site Superintendent will play a key role in coordinating subcontractors, managing resources, and maintaining a high standard of quality throughout the construction process.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction management, with a proven track record of successfully overseeing commercial, industrial or civil engineering projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, techniques, and best practices, with expertise in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor on-site personnel to achieve project goals.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, with knowledge of OHSA regulations and industry standards.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee all on-site construction activities, including scheduling, coordinating, and supervising subcontractors, vendors, and laborers.
  • Monitor progress and ensure projects are completed according to specifications, timelines, and budgetary constraints.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety protocols, quality standards, and building codes.
  • Manage site logistics, including material deliveries, equipment utilization, and waste disposal.
  • Resolve any on-site issues or conflicts that may arise, collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to find effective solutions.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, progress photos, and as-built drawings.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, providing leadership and guidance to on-site personnel.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and team members to ensure project objectives are met and expectations are exceeded.
