Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
The Site Superintendent shares our energy and passion in building a company committed to
transparent, honest, and simple construction services. They are responsible for overseeing YCI
construction projects to successful completion. They organize and coordinate all site activities and
supervise crews to complete the project on time and on budget. The Superintendent is responsible
for job site safety, scheduling, trade coordination, project meetings, inspections and quality control.
Travel to sites outside of Edmonton may be required.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all on site activities; ensure project construction is executed in a safe, timely and efficient manner
- Manage site flow of information
- Create schedules and assist sub trades to comply and maintain productivity
- Liaison with clients, AHJ officials and create working relationships
- Reviewing all work drawings to identify conflicts and issues in advance
- Supervise sub-trades, suppliers, and field workers
- Conduct site safety orientation and weekly safety meetings with sub-trades
- Review on-site work to confirm that project is being built as per drawings, specifications, code and ensure that all finishes are to York and industry standards
- Assemble the job site office and equipment requirements
- Monitor and maintain the project construction schedule on a regular basis
- Implement and enforce the requirements of OHS and York Construction Health and Safety Program
- Review the accuracy of shop drawings, change orders, and RFI’s as required
- Investigate and resolve any issues that arise
- Responsible for field documentation such as daily logs, conduct daily safety inspections and other required reports
- Order materials and schedules inspections as necessary; include coordinate offsite utilities and review with the applicable authority
- Ensure Quality Control / Quality Assurance process is adhered to, and reviews are performed by testing agencies and consultants
- Provide leadership and technical guidance to other team members
- Constantly strive to improve company processes and the quality of the finished product
