K. James Construction, general contractor in Perth, Ontario, has an excellent reputation for building quality, custom homes. We have built more than 120 homes in Perth and surrounding area since 1981, including recreational and country homes, in both contemporary and traditional styles, ranging in size from 1,100 to 7,000 sq. ft.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least five (5) years of prior carpentry experience.
• Valid Ontario driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract.
• Reliable access to a vehicle.
• Knowledge of custom home building techniques.
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• Willingness to learn.
• Supervision, project management and time management skills.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Strong English communication skills (speaking, reading, writing).
• Strong collaboration, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently or in small teams.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, crouch, kneel, reach, climb (ladder).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Working at Heights certification an asset.

• Taking direction and working effectively as a collaborative team member.
• Following workplace safety requirements.
• Ensuring visitors and sub-trades to the site are aware of site safety requirements, and that KJC personnel are following safety requirements.
• Installing form work, including ICF.
• Placing and finishing concrete.
• Framing, including walls, floors and roofs.
• Interior and exterior finishes including sidings, soffits, interior and exterior trim.
• Installation of windows and doors, air barriers, insulation and rainscreen.
