About the Role: The Site Supervisor for commercial building projects plays a critical role in ensuring that construction activities are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. This position is responsible for overseeing daily operations on-site, coordinating between subcontractors, suppliers, and project managers to maintain project timelines and budgets. The Site Supervisor ensures compliance with all safety regulations and building codes, mitigating risks and fostering a safe working environment for all personnel. They act as the primary point of contact on-site, resolving issues promptly and facilitating clear communication among all stakeholders. Ultimately, the role is pivotal in delivering successful commercial building projects that meet client expectations and regulatory requirements. Minimum Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in construction management is preferred. * Minimum of 3 years experience in a supervisory role within commercial construction projects. * Strong knowledge of construction processes, safety regulations, and building codes applicable in the United States. * Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications. * Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from job sites. Preferred Qualifications: * Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field. * OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety certification or equivalent safety training. * Experience with project management software such as Procore, PlanGrid, or similar tools. * Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams. * First aid and CPR certification. Responsibilities: * Supervise and coordinate all on-site construction activities to ensure adherence to project plans and schedules. * Monitor work quality and compliance with safety standards, building codes, and company policies. * Manage subcontractors and labor teams, providing guidance and resolving conflicts as they arise. * Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings to track milestones and address potential delays. * Maintain accurate documentation of daily activities, incidents, and resource usage for reporting purposes. Skills: The Site Supervisor utilizes strong organizational and leadership skills daily to coordinate multiple teams and ensure project milestones are met efficiently. Effective communication skills are essential for liaising between subcontractors, suppliers, and project managers, facilitating smooth operations and quick resolution of issues. Technical skills, including the ability to read blueprints and use project management software, enable accurate monitoring of progress and resource allocation. Safety management skills are applied continuously to enforce compliance and maintain a secure work environment. Problem-solving abilities are critical for addressing unexpected challenges on-site, ensuring that construction activities proceed without significant delays.
