Responsibilities:

YOUR NEW ROLE

You will be responsible for coordinating the construction works on site and monitoring the delivery of projects (value up to $20m) to meet the company’s requirements for quality, safety, and budget. The projects will include new build, refurbishments and fit-out of Commercial and Government buildings located in Darwin. This is a full-time permanent role with a standard working week of 45 hours.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Review the project plans and specifications and comment on the building design, scheduling, possible cost-savings measures and potential construction problems.
  • Monitor subcontractors’ scope of works.
  • Monitor the project construction schedule.
  • In conjunction with the Project Managers, liaise with clients, architects, consultants, and subcontractors to discuss and resolve issues.
  • Supervise the activity on site and oversee subcontractors’ daily operations.
  • In conjunction with the Project Managers, analyse various cost/construction options to determine most cost-effective alternatives.
  • Daily and fortnightly programming.
  • Ensure an efficient and safe quality of work according to the company’s standards.
  • Report directly to the Project Manager about the work progress and ensure scheduled works are completed on time.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Significant experience in a Site Manager or Site Supervisor role working on Commercial, Government or Defence construction projects.
  • Trade qualifications / background in Construction.
  • Solid experience in interpreting drawings and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of MS Office applications and/or Procore is desirable.
  • Solid leadership, communication, and team-building skills
