Hands-on construction foreman/site supervisor required for a 45-room resort refurbishment in Vanuatu. Live-in role with accommodation and meals included.

Key Points

  • Live and work in Vanuatu – resort accommodation and meals included
  • Varied, hands-on refurbishment role working across multiple trades
  • 12-month role suited to an experienced builder, foreman or construction all-rounder

FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

Construction Foreman / Site Supervisor – Vanuatu

We are a resort and hotel business based in Vanuatu, currently undertaking a substantial refurbishment and reinstatement programme across approximately 45 rooms and associated resort facilities.

We are looking for an experienced Construction Foreman / Site Supervisor to help coordinate the work between our operational management team, construction crews, contractors and ownership.

This is a hands-on, live-in role based at the resort in Vanuatu, with accommodation and meals provided.

It is not simply a desk-based supervisor position. We need someone practical and experienced who is comfortable being around the site, organising people, identifying problems and finding sensible solutions.

The Role

You will act as an important link between:

  • Resort operational management
  • The company director
  • Local construction staff and labourers
  • Imported skilled tradespeople
  • Subcontractors and specialist trades
  • Suppliers and procurement
  • Resort maintenance teams
  • Occasionally resort staff and guests where construction works affect access, noise or resort operations

There will also be some involvement in general maintenance and other practical jobs around the property from time to time.

A large part of the role is forward planning — understanding what is coming next and making sure the right labour, materials, equipment and specialist trades are available when required.

We need someone who can see an issue developing before it becomes a problem.

Current Works

The refurbishment programme covers a wide range of building work, including:

  • Removal and alteration of concrete block walls
  • Formwork and pouring reinforced concrete walls in situ
  • Concrete repairs
  • Plastering and finishing
  • Bathroom refurbishment
  • Resetting and installing vanities
  • Plumbing-related works
  • Basic electrical coordination
  • Basic plumbing and gas-related coordination
  • Joinery and general carpentry
  • General repairs and reinstatement
  • Coordinating licensed and specialist trades
  • Organising labour, materials and sequencing of works

You are not expected to personally carry out every specialist trade.

What is important is having a strong practical understanding of construction and how the different trades fit together, with enough experience to recognise when work is being done properly — or when something needs correcting.Full job description
