JOB OVERVIEW

Working as part of a team, Securatech Guard Services Site Supervisors will play an integral role in creating peace of mind for the company?s clients by protecting their assets and personnel, minimizing risk, and ensuring overall safety and compliance at a variety of client locations. They will also provide training and guidance to assigned Armed and Unarmed Guard Services Officers.
Securatech Guard Services operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Supervisors are expected to be available to work all shifts including holidays and weekends.
Site Supervisors report to a Guard Services Supervisor and serve as a member of the Guard Services team. This position supports the needs and activities of the company, supervisors/managers, and other personnel. Site Supervisors must also be able to display a friendly and helpful attitude while working with fellow associates and clients. This is an entry-level leadership position.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate?s Degree or higher preferred.
  • Preferred Experience:
  • 3-5 years of security experience (preferably armed) within the past 5 years OR
  • 3 years of military service (active or reserves) OR
  • Graduate from a Police Officer Standard Training/Police Academy (POST/MCOLES) course OR
  • 60 college credits, Criminal Justice/Police Science preferred OR
  • Reasonable combination of the above.
  • At least 1 year of previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Completion of all company-approved supervisor/management training courses or equivalent within 90 days of accepting the position. This requirement may be waived depending on experience and education.

QUALIFICATIONS

You must be motivated, engaged, ambitious, and looking to build a long-term career. This is not a desk job, and you must be prepared to work as part of a team, acting quickly and professionally as you respond to urgent, potentially stressful situations that may include physical altercations. You must also display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills as you will interact with a variety of clients, staff, and external visitors.
Please note: Hire for this position is contingent upon the successful completion of a thorough background check, including a criminal, motor vehicle, credit, and education history, previous work experience/references, and a drug screen.

The minimum requirement to become a Site Supervisor is as follows:

  • 21 years of age or older
  • Must maintain a valid State of Michigan Concealed Pistol License (CPL) OR Ohio or Indiana equivalent (if a resident of either state).
  • Availablity to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Must have a valid driver?s license.
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Able to provide proof that you are eligible to work in the US.
  • Speak, read, and write English.
  • Excellent leadership and managerial skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Ability to track and maintain scheduled assignments.
  • Strong listening, organizational, oral, and written communication skills for multi-tasking effectively.

Responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will be responsible for deterring criminal activity and securing a variety of client locations. These locations may include but are not limited to schools, retail locations, business parks, warehouses, government buildings, and on occasion special events. Specific duties for this role will include:

  • Checking electronic and mechanical devices that require monitoring and recording and reporting any abnormal conditions.
  • Ensuring that facilities and restricted areas are properly secured.
  • Verifying the need for entry and logging entry and exit for all visitors.
  • Rendering first-responder services to all emergencies and incidents within the scope of your training.
  • Preparing written daily activity and incident reports.
  • Using various computer applications.
  • Using various manuals and automated equipment such as fire extinguishers, first aid supplies, etc.
  • Providing access control, security, and customer interface at fixed posts to include lobby entry points, reception areas, and event-related assignments.
  • Answering phone calls and documenting all messages and requests.
  • Performing specialized additional duties relating to controlling computer systems and facility access as needed.
  • Ensures operation of equipment by practicing use; completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer?s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; notifying supervisor of needed repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Responding appropriately to incidents of theft, robbery, assault, destruction of property, or any other threat to client assets and personnel.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Site Supervisors are responsible for providing training, guidance, and direction to subordinate employees. Supervisory tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Assists in on-site training of new Armed and Unarmed Security Officers as assigned. Ensures post orders and other details of assignments are discussed and understood.
  • Provides training and coaching to assigned employees on an ongoing basis. Responsible for seeking advice from a supervisor, company management, or designated human resources representatives as appropriate. Meets personally with assigned employees and documents coaching actions.
  • Acts as the first point of contact between all assigned personnel and company management, communicating issues and concerns reasonably and respectfully.
  • Prepares, files, and submits various reports as required.
  • Serves as a key point of client contact to ensure the delivery of high-quality customer service for assigned accounts; evaluates service quality and initiates any necessary corrective action in a timely manner. Will have a full understanding of post orders for each assigned site.
  • Meets with client representatives, as needed, to provide assurance that all security requirements are being met and to provide quality customer service.
  • Provides a first point of contact between assigned personnel and company management, including communicating issues and concerns in a reasonable and respectful manner.
  • Maintains and provides guidance on company core values, policies, and standard operating procedures, as well as ensuring adherence to superior customer service standards.
  • Provides oversight to the security team at assigned sites/locations via assistance to the Guard Services Supervisor and/or Guard Services Manager performing administrative tasks as assigned.
  • Functions as a detail leader in the absence of other management personnel. May make a command decision, if necessary, which is subject to review by the Guard Services Manager.
  • Due to the necessity to train new guards at different times the Site Supervisor position requires flexibility and open availability to perform these tasks along with administrative responsibilities appointed by a supervisor. A Supervisor must maintain this availability to perform his/her duties.
  • Other supervisory duties as assigned.
