Job Description Site Supervisor – Structural Steel Works (Freelance) Location: Thameside ERF, Tilbury, Essex, RM18 7SG Contract Type: Freelance Duration: 1-year contract (possible extension) Start Date: ASAP Daily Rate: £450-£475 d.o.e About the Role Kanadevia Inova is seeking an experienced Site Supervisor – Structural Steel Works for our ongoing project at Thameside ERF in Tilbury. The successful candidate will oversee all structural steel erection activities, ensuring work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate daily structural steel erection operations on site. Ensure compliance with design drawings, specifications, and safety standards. Manage site crews, subcontractors, and lifting activities. Monitor progress, address site issues, and report to the Project Manager. Liaise with engineers, fabricators, and logistics to maintain smooth operations. Qualifications Requirements Diploma or Certificate in Civil / Structural Engineering or Construction. 5+ years’ experience supervising structural steelwork erection. Strong understanding of steel assembly, bolting, and lifting procedures. Proven site leadership with a strong focus on safety and quality. Ability to read and interpret structural and fabrication drawings. Desirable Certifications in Working at Heights, Rigging, or Crane Supervision. Experience on energy, industrial, or large-scale infrastructure projects. Familiarity with QA/QC documentation and daily reporting tools. Excellent communication and coordination skills. Safety-first mindset with attention to detail.
