Site Support Worker | Pinangba | Cooktown Employment Term: Casual Location: Cooktown - Cape York Family Centre Remuneration: $36.31 (Excludes Casual Allowance) + 12% Super + Penalties & Allowances Shifts: Vary between 1 - 5 days per week including nights and weekends Casual opportunity available for energetic, passionate and highly capable Site Support Officer to join the team at our Cape York Family Centre Rehabilitation Centre. Pinangba is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander group of services, where family and belonging is at the heart of everything we do, building a stronger future together. The Pinangba service of Cape York Family Centre based in Cooktown . It is a place where we work together as a big family to provide care and residential alcohol and other drug rehabilitation services to our mob. The core function of the Site Support Worker position is to ensure the safety of individuals and families who are receiving residential AOD rehabilitation treatment via shift work (after hours and weekends). This position works predominantly as a lone worker to undertake security checks of the perimeter, site tasks and support safety of residents. Your part in our Blue Care team Maintain site safety and security by undertaking perimeter checks hourly or as frequently as directed. Undertake an afternoon lockdown check of buildings and motor vehicles Monitor the service to ensure that clients and visitors are not bringing or using contraband on-site and are not attending site under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. Ensure clients are following the rules of the service and role model this behaviour De-escalate client disagreements or conflict (with support from on-call or management as necessary) Respond to emergency situations and call Ambulance, Fire, Police where necessary and with assistance from Manager and/or On-call and documenting in Site Support Worker book or via email. Report to and/or consult with Manager or On-call in relation to suspicions of on-site use, issues or decisions in relation to all of the above accountabilities. Record observations and actions into Site Support Worker book and email to relevant team member. Provide practical support (transport, centrelink and bank) as organised by Clinical Team. Answer the phone and take messages Assist clients with medication in compliance with medication assist procedures Undertake regular cleaning tasks - eg (Frequent touch points, Motor Vehicles, Equipment, Empty Bins, sweep, mop) Support planned diversionary and on-site activities Report Maintenance Issues Comply with all Pinangba and Uniting Care policies and procedures Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality Undertake other duties as required/directed, as service needs change or grow (consistent with the above and within the scope of the position/duties list and any applicable legal or industrial obligations).
