Working within Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Speciality Diagnostic Group, within the Microbiology Division (MBD), our customers worldwide trust our microbiology solutions for the diagnosis of infectious disease and detection of bacterial contamination.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Site Utilities Lead. As the Site Utilities Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of our company’s physical facilities and ensuring they are in optimal condition. Your primary goal will be to ensure the smooth operation and functionality of our site, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and sustainability. This position requires excellent organizational and leadership skills, as well as a thorough understanding of utility equipment principles.
Responsibilities:
Supervise internal and external resources, ensuring all tasks and projects are completed efficiently and to the highest standards across
Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance program for all site utilities, including steam boiler plant, water systems, drainage, buildings, and laboratories.
Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and potential areas for improvement.
Coordinate and prioritize maintenance requests, providing timely solutions to minimize downtime and disruptions to operations.
Ensuring resources are allocated effectively and in line with company objectives.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure maintenance activities align with overall business goals and objectives.
Develop and maintain relationships with external contractors and vendors to ensure quality service delivery and competitive pricing.
Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and technological advancements in maintenance, recommending and implementing innovative solutions where applicable.
Feasibility, preliminary scope and justification for CAPEX projects to meet current and future utilities requirements.
Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations including management of Site PSSR and LOLER schemes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in facilities management, engineering, or a related field (preferred).
Proven experience in a leadership role within facility maintenance or a related field.
Strong knowledge of facility maintenance principles, including maintenance planning, preventive maintenance, and asset management.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team.
Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other relevant software.
Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
