Overview Job Summary: Demonstrates through behavior Decatur Morgan Hospital’s mission, vision and values. Performing documentation in the EHR, gathering information for the patient's visit, and partnering with the physician to deliver the pinnacle of efficient patient care. Carrying out the clerical duties for the physician, assisting with case management and prior authorizations. The sitter in Behavior Medicine is responsible for assisting in direct patient care according to physician orders, under direct supervision of the registered nurse. The sitter cooperates and communicates with all health team members to maintain the highest quality patient care. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions 1. Performs basic patient care with minimal supervision and within established policies. 2. Maintains appropriate level of observation for assigned patient. 3. Communicates and interacts with assigned patient at indicated 1:1 level. 4. Promptly reports patient changes, problems, complaints or requests to appropriate personnel. 5. Maintains clear and concise documentation within standard time frame. 6. Accurately follows directions of licensed personnel with minimal questions. . 7. Adheres to policies and procedures and demonstrates practices that ensure a safe environment for assigned patient, co-workers, and self. Qualifications Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required: · Uses common sense and special medical skills to care for the sick. · Uses eyes, ears, hands and fingers with skill. · Acts quickly in an emergency, rendering appropriate life saving measures. · Communicates with people. · Follow and/or give precise instructions. · Records and interprets information accurately. · CPR certification required. Education: High School Graduate, GED or equivalent work experience. Experience: Healthcare experience is desirable.
