Description

We’re seeking another part-time Skate Sharpener / Pro-Shop Specialist. If you’re friendly, hard-working, confident (but not cocky), a strong communicator, and have a real passion for Hockey, we want to hear from you. This position is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to learn a variety of skills in sales and technical work in the hockey/ice sports retail industry.

Basic Requirements:

  • Self Regulated: You don’t need to be watched over or told what to do. You always look for opportunities to improve things and hate the idea of just sitting around doing nothing. We expect our team members to always be working while on duty. Sorry, this isn’t a job where you can sit around and watch the game until someone shows up
  • Honest and trustworthy: You’re the type of person that would find a $10 bill on the floor and set it aside in case it’s rightful owner comes back to find it
  • Technically / mechanically Adept: You’ll be working with a $25,000 skate sharpening machine. If you’re not handy, or can’t use basic tools, this might not be the right gig for you
  • Penchant for perfection: We do precision work… We expect every pair of skates to be checked several times for quality control. You’re the type that brings “Measure twice cut once” to a new level by measuring a third time
  • Street Smarts: Education is great, but we’re more interested in your ability to make decisions and take action
  • Experience in Skate Sharpening will get you in front of the line, however we are willing to train the right candidate
